It’s a given I’m not the kind of laid back man, comfortably occupied by sitting at home without a date instead of living it up with friends. I’d bet you haven’t witnessed me ramble on great dating and compatibility. Not a fan of the drama.

Boredom is an unfortunate trait and totally neglected in my pedigree. Let me go on, I’ll level with you, I was forced to put the breaks on a 3-year relationship and I felt a great deal for but truly carried on to nowhere. So one could tell ya it may have been ages since I dated. I don’t hold the great expectations for dating that came naturally before.

Being single is new and free. This much is certain, I refuse to sit tight, faithfully devowering Battlestar Galactica episodes off the torrents. The primary factor behind this spell of fresh break-up dating lameness? We’re not in high school, and most ladies I meet at work are taken.

My one-time football friend, Andrew, who has never had dating boredom, told me he’s almost in a similar place. He introduced me to this Dallas dating service called Great Expectations. I like getting to know sophisticated women who share my passions. So I bit the bullet and became a member.

I told myself, you wouldn’t feel down by not having plans when you haven’t stepped off the bench. As my senior year soccer coach Terry Jennings repeated to no end as his idea of encouragement, “Fools lose before they try, shooter.”

Coach was crazy, and a little out of touch. But, the old man was a source of truth without being self-righteous. He meant well to everyone. This fantastic company offering matchmaking services in Dallas that I use might’ve short circuted the old man’s shiny bald head.

At yesterday’s Great Expectations dating events I met a few quality and attractive women that meet my eye. I actually had a good time with dozens of indisputably well-situated people. The evening ended with a sweet farewell, and as a plus, I developed some political connections for my business. Very cool.

Get out there. You won’t win if you sit the bench. Don’t sell yourself short, believe in your own great expectations for your dating life.

Sincerely,

Josiah

Advice For Your First Date - Some advice that will help you be successful for your first date. The most memorable part of dating is the first date, so make it count! Here's some advice to get you through your first date.

On the net – there are lots of internet dating tips for both men and women. Here are a few steps that will aid you out on your first date.

1st Step:

Don’t act (pretend) to impress. You need to be yourself! You might lose her interest if she has to center on your act or attitude. Try to pretend that she is just a acquaintance and you aren’t trying to win her over, and perhaps you’ll be comfortable enough to more easily be yourself.

2nd Step:

Remember – 1st impressions matter! Make sure she doesn’t think you will be a boring partner. Don’t talk too much – and try to balance the conversation. Don’t just say yes or no to her inquiries, but you also don’t want to state your biography either. If you merely lecture about yourself, then you will sound exceedingly vain and boring!

3rd Tip:

Look confident on your first singles date. You need to make her feel like you are brilliant and fascinating. When you speak, you need to sound convincing, but not vain. Don’t make her detest you before she begins to know you! You don’t desire to make your 1st date, your last date!

For my last point – you need to have fun with dating online! Try and forget your nerves, and concerns. Imagine like your not even on a date – but instead, merely hanging out with your friend. Hopefully your first date will be a unforgettable one.
